Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Data storage architecture and database performance management
- Design and implement improved monitoring and service alerts
- Select and implement automated testing and deployment processes
- Lead data quality, performance improvement, and automation initiatives
- Maintain testing, staging, and production environments
- Support technology evaluation and manage third-party vendors
- Participate in design and code reviews for components
- Provide technical support and guidance for development issues
- Communicate with staff to understand specific system requirements
Required Experience:
- 8-12 years of professional systems administration or systems engineering
- MS degree in computing science or complementary science program
- Proven track record of problem solving and delivering high-quality operational support
- Experience with PostgreSQL, system monitoring tools, GNU/Linux OS, and relational schema design
- Knowledge of non-SQL databases, test automation, deployment automation, and web/mobile content delivery infrastructure
- Experience with iterative and test-driven development practices
- History of developing detailed design documentation and operational response protocols
