Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

Merchant Acquisition Strategy:

  • Develop and implement effective merchant acquisition strategies to drive growth.
  • Research and identify target merchant segments to approach and onboard.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor offerings, and industry developments.
  • Create outreach plans and tailored approaches to attract new merchants

Lead Generation & Outreach:

  • Generate and qualify leads through cold calling, networking, email campaigns, and other outreach methods.
  • Engage with potential merchants to understand their needs and business requirements.
  • Present tailored solutions to address merchant needs and onboard them to the platform.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with potential merchants throughout the sales cycle.
  • Provide value-driven consultations to merchants on how to optimize their business through the platform.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for merchants during the acquisition process.

Sales Process Management:

  • Manage the end-to-end sales process from initial contact to signed agreements.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with merchants.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding of new merchants, working closely with internal teams (e.g., operations, support, product).

Performance Metrics & Reporting:

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), including merchant acquisition rate, conversion rates, and sales pipeline.
  • Regularly report on progress to senior leadership, highlighting achievements and challenges.
  • Continuously improve sales techniques based on performance analysis.

Customer Support and Issue Resolution:

  • Provide post-acquisition support and assist in resolving any issues that arise.
  • Ensure merchants are well integrated into the platform and understand how to make the most out of the service.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in sales, preferably with a focus on acquiring B2B customers or merchants.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and driving merchant growth.

Sales Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of sales techniques, negotiation, and closing deals.
  • Ability to handle objections and overcome challenges to close deals.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver persuasive sales pitches.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with merchants.

Analytical Skills:

  • Ability to analyze market trends and customer needs to develop targeted sales strategies.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales reporting tools.

Problem-Solving:

    • Ability to think critically and provide creative solutions to merchant challenges.

Organizational Skills:

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple prospects and deals simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to keep accurate records and manage leads through the sales funnel.
