Senior Power BI Developer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Power BI Developer with expertise in Azure to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business intelligence, data modeling, and analytics using Power BI, as well as hands-on experience with Azure-based technologies. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality reporting solutions, optimizing data models, and working closely with stakeholders to provide actionable insights and visualizations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to meet business needs.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain data models in Power BI to ensure efficient performance and scalability.
• Integrate Power BI with Azure data services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, etc.).
• Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored BI solutions.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and privacy by implementing best practices and Azure security policies.
• Create and optimize DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) queries to support complex calculations and aggregations in reports.
• Utilize Power Query (M language) to clean, transform, and load data from various data sources.
• Manage and troubleshoot issues related to Power BI services and ensure proper configuration of the environment.
• Implement Power BI Embedded solutions and integrate with other web-based applications.
• Participate in data migration projects from on-premises systems to Azure-based solutions.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to BI reports, data models, and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve BI practices and reporting capabilities.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI development, including dashboard/report design, data modeling, and DAX.
• Azure Expertise: Strong experience with Azure services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Analysis Services.
• Proficient in SQL and T-SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and optimization.
• Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts and architecture.
• Expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and integrating with various data sources (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, APIs).
• Strong knowledge of Power BI service, workspaces, gateways, and Power BI Embedded solutions.
• Experience with Power Query (M) for data transformation and integration.
• Familiarity with version control tools (Git, Azure DevOps, etc.) for managing Power BI artifacts.
• Familiar with Azure DevOps or other CI/CD pipelines to streamline the development and deployment process.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
