Senior Database Developer

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for developing the overall architecture and schema of the databases.
• Determine the most efficient stored procedures, views, and functions for the application.
• Proficient in database performance analysis and tuning. Monitor performance and evaluate areas to improve efficiency.
• Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements based on SQL best practices.
• Responsible for maintaining strict testing requirements and procedures.
• Responsible for data loading and data migration activities.
• Review the data flow requirements between the databases and implement them.
• Work as a team member with other technical staff to ensure data integrity and industry reporting standards.
• Troubleshoot databases and applications involving data validation and testing.
• Improve/expand their knowledge and skill set regarding current trends and changes in the DB industry.
• Participate in Team activities, Design discussions, Scrum Stand-up meetings, and Sprint planning Reviews with the team.
• Mentoring junior team members by helping them to understand the functionality and implementation.

Position Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server, SQL queries, and PL/SQL.
• 4+ years of proven experience in database design and development, specifically with SQL Server.
• In-depth expertise in database design principles and best practices for SQL Server.
• Strong proficiency in query optimization, performance tuning, and writing efficient SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Extensive experience working with both on-premise SQL Server environments and Azure SQL databases.
• Experience supporting Agile development teams, collaborating closely with developers and project stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues effectively.
• Ability to handle both development and ongoing maintenance tasks simultaneously, ensuring high-quality solutions.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members.
