Head of Technology

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Tech Head with expertise in the MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js) stack to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust web applications, ensuring seamless functionality across front-end and back-end systems.

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in building and maintaining payment gateway (PG) systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivery Management
• Manage timely and bug free delivery of the projects assigned
• Manage the day-to-day tasks of the team to ensure timely delivery
• Application Development:
• Design, develop, and deploy scalable and high-performance web applications using the MERN stack.
• Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate them with the front-end applications.
• Code Quality and Optimization:
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following industry best practices.
• Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Database Management:
• Design and maintain robust, scalable, and secure databases using MongoDB.
• Implement data modeling, indexing, and query optimization.
• Collaboration and Teamwork:
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Testing and Debugging:
• Develop and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests.
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues.
• Technology Upgrades and Innovation:
• Stay updated with the latest developments in the MERN stack and related technologies.
• Propose and implement improvements to the existing codebase and development processes.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Expertise:
• 10-15+ years of professional experience as a Full-Stack Developer, with at least 8 years in the MERN stack.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including ES6+ syntax.
• Experience with front-end development using React.js and state management libraries like Redux or Context API.
• Proficient in back-end development using Node.js and Express.js.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB, including aggregation pipelines and schema design.
• Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git.
• Prior experience in building or maintaining payment gateway systems is highly preferred.
• Development Practices:
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Proficiency in writing unit tests using tools like Jest or Mocha.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Tech / MCA in Computer Science or equivalent extensive professional experience
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker.
• Exposure to cloud platforms like Google Cloud.
• Understanding of web security best practices.
• Experience in machine learning integration or advanced algorithm design
