POSITION SUMMARY

 

Naviga is looking for a skilled and dedicated Security Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. As a Security Engineer at Naviga, you will play a key role in safeguarding our information systems by designing, implementing, and managing security measures to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our data. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a proactive mindset, and a passion for staying ahead of evolving threats.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES –

 

·       Security Architecture - Design, implement, and maintain robust security controls and countermeasures to protect our systems.

·       Threat Monitoring and Response - Continuously monitor and analyze security alerts, respond promptly to potential threats, and document findings.

·       Vulnerability Management - Perform regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing, addressing identified risks effectively.

·       Collaboration - Work closely with development, IT, and other cross-functional teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle and IT processes.

·       Tool Configuration and Maintenance - Manage security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and more.

·       Security Event Investigation - Investigate and respond to security breaches, identifying root causes and recommending enhancements to prevent recurrence.

·       Continuous Improvement - Stay updated on emerging security trends, technologies, and best practices to proactively enhance Naviga’s security posture.

 

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE –

 

·       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

·       3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.

·       Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.

·       Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.

·       Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, firewalls, and antivirus solutions.

·       Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) to automate security processes.

·       Pentesting or Web Application testing is a plus

·       Cloud experience and certifications are a plus

·       Knowledge of compliance standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).

·       Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

·       Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
