Assistant Manager - Safety

Safety Program Management:

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety programs, targets, responsibility & accountability across all departments that align with industry standards and legal requirements.
• Establish a framework to identify all possible risks and foreseeable emergencies; Develop control and preventive measures; Review implementation of risk mitigation guidelines; Design, communicate and simulate emergency response plans to mitigate potential business risks
• Collaborate with the department to establish safety goals and monitor progress towards achieving them.

Incident Investigation:

• Establish standards and processes for reporting and investigation of serious incidents related to Safety.
• Track incidents on a regular basis to identify areas of improvement to ensure incidents.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Work with relevant parties to implement preventative measures and ensure compliance.

Safety Inspections:

• Regularly inspect work areas, equipment, machinery, and processes to identify potential safety hazards.
• Address unsafe conditions and behaviors promptly and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with maintenance and facilities teams to ensure equipment and facilities meet safety standards.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Providing technical support for renewals, submission, filling of returns/licenses
• Maintain knowledge of all applicable corporate, central, state and local health and safety regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
• Conducting regular Safety Surveillance Audits.
• Ensuring effective implementation of Work Permit System.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Organize Safety Committee Meetings regularly.
• Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, incidents, and compliance status.
• Maintain accurate documentation of safety-related activities, training, and policies.
