Assistant Manager/Manager - Purchase & Planning
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day purchasing and planning operations to ensure timely and cost-effective supply chain management.
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, from vendor selection to order fulfillment, ensuring adherence to budget and quality standards.
- Negotiate with vendors for favorable terms and pricing, and manage vendor relationships to ensure continuous supply and high-quality materials.
- Interpret and understand BOM (Bill of Materials), drawings, and specifications for engineering materials and equipment.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate stock for production while minimizing excess.
- Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or QAD for procurement and inventory management, ensuring data accuracy and up-to-date information.
- Utilize MS Office, MS Project Management, or Primavera for planning, reporting, and tracking.
- Collaborate with production planning teams to ensure that material requirements are met according to production schedules.
- Identify and resolve issues related to procurement, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth communication and coordination between departments.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, and supply chain management, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, production planning, and related processes.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to establish and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Ability to understand and interpret BOM, engineering drawings, and material specifications.
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, QAD, or similar ERP systems for managing purchasing and inventory.
- Familiarity with MS Office, MS Project Management, or Primavera for effective project planning and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address challenges and improve efficiency.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, fostering effective communication and teamwork.
- Exposure to production planning is an added advantage.
