Job Description
- Raise $ 2 -3+ million per year from companies and foundations giving primarily $ 5 0,000 + each year . Build long-term relationships with corporate and foundation donors, cultivating and stewarding thei r interests.
- Develop strategies and craft proposals and messag ing to prom ote potential partnerships such as corporate sponsorships .
- Identify growth areas across other global markets and support corporate and foundation fundraising in those locations .
- Coordinate with global office staff to support those relationships and ensure integration with the overall development strategy.
- Support efforts to build pipeline for high - level funding awards and contributions from corporate and foundation donors ; collaborate across teams to pursue strategic opportunities.
- Collaborate with the C hief Development and Communications Officer (C DCO ) and Chief Executive Officer ( CEO ) as necessary to co-manage and provide support on key relationships and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan .
- Stay current with organizational strategies , operational plans, and program details to recommend and present potential funding opportunities to donors .
- Participate in and contribute to the g lobal a ccounts c oordination g roup to collaborate with other CF relationship managers globally.
- Create customized tools and resources for cultivation and stewardship activities .
- W rite, edit and/or coordinate clear, compelling materials including concept papers, letters of inquiry, proposals, present ations, reports, and additional materials as needed.
- Work closely across other departments to craft innovative, unique funding proposals when required by the donor .
- Partner with the finance department to ensure budgets and financial reports are appropriately represented.
- Maintain current donor records in Salesforce, as needed.
- Familiaris e yourself with Room to Read and the Global Partnerships team .
- Work c losely with your accounts, stewarding them and understanding potential for g r owth .
- Support RMs with managing global accounts, helping with strategy and resources .
- Conduct p rospecting .
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience, with at least 5 years of direct experience in nonprofit fundraising processes or client relationship management, preferably working with corporate and/or foundation philanthropy.
- Demonstrated ability to solicit and cultivate relationships with donors and employ successful stewardship strategies.
