Manager - Maintenance

Role & responsibilities

Support Head Maintenance in preparation of Preventive Maintenance schedule and provide utmost importance to implementation of the same in the section

Contribute towards cost reduction activities by ensuring that there are minimum breakdowns by monitoring adherence to the preventive maintenance schedule/ ensure least disruption on the production schedules due to fault

Ensure implementation of action steps to reduce losses and wastages during maintenance activities

¢ Liaison with the production team to understand their concerns and to undertake required measures to ensure targeted production up time

¢ Guide team in implementation of corrective action in case of breakdown, ensure comprehensive analysis of the problem (root cause analysis, fishbone analysis, why-why analysis etc.) and appropriate documentation for future reference

¢ Coordinate with PE department for efficient installation of new machinery/ repairs in own section

¢ Provide required guidelines and support to subordinates for the execution of activities

¢ Identify critical spares and oversee maintenance of spares inventory to ensure availability and control

¢ Ensure compliance to suggestions from Head of Maintenance in the direction of reduction of breakdowns, improvement projects, cost etc.

¢ Ensure usage of SAP modules in maintenance for effective recording and monitoring of maintenance data

¢ Ensure proper documentation of all jobs including details of problem diagnosis and resolution as well as spares used for future reference and analysis

¢ Ensure strict adherence to norms laid down for quality, health and safety by creating awareness through training / workshop / awareness sessions and making compliance mandatory maintenance

¢ Ensure timely completion of all stages of Performance Appraisal Process

¢ Provide necessary leadership and guidance to employees to improve their performance

¢ Identify training needs of the subordinates, nominate them for appropriate training and developmental programs

¢ Take up grievances of subordinates that reach through proper channels and takes appropriate action accordingly in consultation with Head of Maintenance

Preferred candidate profile

B.E or B.Tech in Mechanical/ Electrical engineering

7~10 years of industry experience in plant maintenance and related areas

¢ Strong knowledge of engineering and maintenance activities including preventive & breakdown maintenance processes

¢ Well acquainted with production, quality control processes and procurement processes

¢ Must be conversant with technical specifications of various machines

Well acquainted with safety norms
