Network Engineer - Routing & Switching (6-7 yrs)

Job Description :

Responsibilities :

- Plan, configure, and deploy network systems including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

- Design scalable network layouts that meet the ever-evolving needs of the organization.

- Monitor network performance and availability to ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime.

- Perform regular network maintenance, including hardware and software updates, for optimal reliability and security.

- Diagnose and resolve network issues related to connectivity, performance, and security.

- Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for network-related user issues.

- Implement and manage network security measures like firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs.

- Monitor network traffic for potential threats and respond to security incidents efficiently.

- Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures.

- Prepare and present reports on network performance, incidents, and improvements.

- Work closely with other IT staff to ensure seamless integration of network solutions with other systems and services.

- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for network equipment and services.

- Ensure network operations are compliant with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulations.

- Stay updated on the latest network technologies and best practices for continuous improvement.

Qualifications :

- 6+ years of experience in network administration and support.

- Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing.

- Experience with network devices like routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

- Experience with network security concepts and tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication, documentation, and reporting skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

- A+ and Network+ certifications (preferred)
