This position is within the GRC Platform and Capabilities team within Global Risk and Compliance Line of Business. The Director of Data Governance Management position will provide day to day strategic support in implementing the risk management framework to safeguard GRC owned data assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. This is a highly visible and strategic position within the company.
Roles Responsibilities
Own the data produced by GRC and implement the right controls around access, quality and integrity in line with regulations BSBS239, BCBS248, PRA Data Governance, GDPR, ROPA, etc
Collaborate with partner Data Offices and Data Stewards to identify the right sources and defining the roadmap for creation of controls around the data consumed by GRC applications
Define and articulate quality and governance metrics and targets for initiatives and platforms and own ongoing monitoring and improvements
Collaborate with Enterprise Data Management teams in defining the roadmaps for creation of controls around the data produced by GRC applications
Establish standard processes for data discovery and stewardship to help rationalize the data needs across various GRC applications
Partner with teams across Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Information Technology , Information Security, Enterprise Data Governance to implement effective data risk mitigation capabilities.
Establish framework for continuous monitoring and periodic assessment
Understand and monitor the data governance regulatory landscape and best practices to continuously improve the established frameworks
Lead and mentor Data governance and management team
Minimum Qualifications:
bachelors Degree in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline. Advanced degree in Business or Engineering preferred
10+ years of Data Management experience in BFSI domain. Experience in risk and compliance preferred.
5+ years of experience in the data stewardship and data governance aligned with global regulations
5+ years of experience in driving data discovery and profiling process .
Experienced people leader with exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at the executive level.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to explain complex problems and ideas clearly and succinctly to senior management.
Expert knowledge of financial industry regulations and data protection requirements.
