Research And Development Officer - Personal Care

Role & responsibilities:

Responsible for the formulation development of Skin cleansing and care liquids, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and innovation.

1. Develop and formulate innovative, superior Skin cleansing and Care products including body wash, face wash, hand wash liquids, body lotions and creams, in line with market trends.
2. Support product development across Personal Care including solid formats like Bars.
3. Develop methodologies to evaluate performance of Skincare products and establish superiority over benchmarks,
4. Benchmark products against lead competitive benchmarks. Establish product stability and other performance evaluations to ensure product quality and safety.
5. Evaluate raw materials from various suppliers and prepare specifications, ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements.
6. Develop and maintain detailed documentation for formulations, processes, and regulatory compliance.
7. Collaborate with the Marketing, Supply chain, procurement and QC, teams to scale formulations from the lab to production. Work with Regulatory and analytical teams to ensure product compliance and safety.

8. Promote Safety and ensure safe practices in the lab

9. Guide a small team of trainees/executives.

Preferred candidate profile: :

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience with the R&D department of leading FMCG companies in the field, with in-depth knowledge of formulations, process, suppliers and product evaluation.

1. 5- 8 years working experience in Personal care industry with leading companies, involved in formulation development, scale up and deployment in market. Knowledge in the area of claim development will be desirable.

2. Good knowledge in the area of formulation of skin cleanser and care products.

3. Educational qualification: Degree in Chemical /Cosmetics /Oils & Surfactants.

4. Understanding and hand-on experience on various instruments/equipment for use in product development and evaluation will be desirable.
