Job Title : Engineering Manager (Backend - Fintech - Stock, Mutual Fund, Bitcoin)

Location : Dubai (Relocation to Abu Dhabi)

Salary : 1-1.5 Crore per annum

Job Summary :

As an Engineering Manager in our backend fintech team, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical direction and management of a team of skilled backend engineers. You will play a key role in shaping our product development processes, ensuring the delivery of high-performance, scalable, and secure backend systems supporting our stock, mutual fund, and cryptocurrency platforms. This is an exciting leadership role for a technically strong individual with a passion for fintech and team-building.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of backend engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

- Take ownership of the backend architecture, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and capable of handling large-scale financial transactions and data.

- Drive the design and implementation of robust backend systems for stock trading, mutual funds, and cryptocurrency platforms, in line with industry best practices.

- Collaborate with product, frontend, and data engineering teams to define and prioritize technical requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals.

- Define and enforce engineering standards and practices, including code reviews, testing, documentation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.

- Ensure backend systems comply with regulatory and security requirements, including those specific to the fintech industry (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR).

- Provide technical leadership in solving complex engineering challenges related to high-volume financial transactions and real-time data processing.

- Evaluate and select new technologies and tools to continuously improve system performance, scalability, and maintainability.

- Maintain clear communication with senior management, providing updates on project status, risks, and resource needs.

- Promote an environment of continuous learning, growth, and innovation within the team.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 8+ years of experience in backend engineering, with at least 3+ years in a managerial or leadership role, ideally within the fintech sector (stock trading, mutual funds, or cryptocurrencies).

- Strong expertise in backend technologies such as Java, Python, Go, or similar languages.

- Deep experience with microservices architecture, API design, event-driven systems, and distributed systems.

- Proven track record of managing engineering teams and driving technical projects to successful delivery in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

- In-depth knowledge of financial platforms and systems, including stock trading, mutual fund platforms, and cryptocurrency exchanges.

- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Strong understanding of database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and their application in high-performance financial systems.

- Experience with security and compliance regulations specific to the financial industry (e.g., GDPR, PSD2, PCI-DSS).

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to collaborate across teams.

- Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into technical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience in blockchain technologies and cryptocurrency infrastructure.

- Experience with high-performance trading systems or platforms.

- Familiarity with machine learning applications in financial data or trading systems.

- Previous experience in managing remote or globally distributed teams.
