Asst Manager - Plant HR (Casting & Forging)


Experience: 7-15+ years (Casting & Forging plant experience)
Reporting to: Director & Chairman
Industry: Manufacturing (Casting & Forging)
Manpower: 100+
Role: Independent, proactive HR leadership

Job Summary:

The Asst Manager - Plant HR is a critical role designed for a proactive and independent HR professional who will lead the entire HR function at the plant, including talent acquisition, payroll management, employee relations, and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in handling large labor forces (100+ manpower) in casting and forging environments and will provide strategic HR direction to both the plant and the senior leadership. Reporting directly to the Director and Chairman, the role will offer significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence key HR policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
    • Independently manage full-cycle recruitment to meet the operational needs of the plant.
    • Ensure the plant is adequately staffed with skilled and unskilled labor in alignment with production targets.
  • Employee Relations & Labor Management:
    • Foster positive relations with the labor force and unions by addressing grievances proactively.
    • Act as the primary liaison between management and labor, ensuring smooth industrial relations.
  • Payroll & Compliance Management:
    • Oversee payroll operations ensuring timely salary disbursement, and maintain strict adherence to statutory obligations (PF, ESI, etc. ).
    • Continuously monitor changes in labor laws and ensure compliance within all HR functions.
  • Administration & Facility Management:
    • Manage plant administration including facility upkeep, security, and housekeeping.
    • Ensure that the facility complies with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Performance Management & Employee Development:
    • Lead the implementation of performance appraisals and provide feedback for performance improvement.
    • Develop training and development programs to enhance employee skills and productivity.
  • Strategic HR Reporting & Advisory:
    • Provide HR reports and analysis to the Director & Chairman on key HR metrics, such as attrition, labor cost, compliance status, and workforce productivity.
    • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company s long-term goals.

  1. Recruitment Efficiency: Timely fulfillment of manpower needs.
  2. Labor Relations: Effective resolution of labor disputes and grievances.
  3. Payroll Accuracy: Timely and error-free payroll management.
  4. Compliance: 100% compliance with statutory regulations.
  5. Employee Engagement: Increase in engagement scores and reduction in attrition.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  1. Recruitment Metrics: Time-to-fill positions, employee turnover rate.
  2. Payroll Management: Payroll accuracy and compliance with statutory obligations.
  3. Grievance Handling: Number of grievances resolved and labor peace maintained.
  4. Training & Development: Number of training programs conducted and improvement in skill metrics.
  5. Administrative Efficiency: Cost control in plant administration and upkeep.
