About the Role
As an Area Sales Manager (ASM), you will lead a team of energetic Business Development Executives and Associates to drive merchant acquisition, sales, and servicing within your assigned territory. Your mission will be to expand our merchant network, enhance brand visibility, and boost revenue generation through innovative products and solutions. You ll play a critical role in accelerating our presence in offline markets and ensuring seamless execution across multiple product lines.
This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of digital transformation while driving meaningful impact in the lives of millions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Business Growth
    • Expand the merchant network through effective acquisition and servicing strategies.
    • Conduct quality audits and implement review mechanisms for superior execution.
    • Present products to merchants, address escalations and maintain strong relationships.
    • Monitor competition and provide actionable insights to the leadership team.
    • Drive productivity in merchant acquisition to secure market leadership.
    • Ensure timely payouts and maintain proper records with your team.
    • Infrastructure & Brand Management
    • Manage devices and collaterals to ensure optimal utilization with no losses.
    • Drive brand visibility through promotional events, roadshows, and trade activities.
  • Data & Stakeholder Management
    • Analyze sales data and provide insights to the team to improve performance.
    • Recruit and engage distributors, ensuring alignment with organizational guidelines.
    • Build strong relationships with distributors, focusing on infrastructure, involvement, and investment.
  • People Management
    • Hire, train, and onboard BDAs/BDEs, ensuring 100% team strength.
    • Monitor KPIs, coach team members, and drive retention through ongoing engagement.
    • Motivate the team with regular communication on schemes and incentives.
    • Be actively present in the field to observe and support front-line sales efforts.
Requirements
  • MBA from Tier 2/3 institutions with 2-4 years of sales experience, managing on-roll/off-roll teams.
  • Background in Telecom, FMCG, or Retail preferred (B2C experience is a plus).
  • Proven track record of increasing sales and revenue in field sales.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a bias for action.
  • Experience in distributor management and working in a startup environment is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and drive impactful results.
