Job Description : Senior P4 Developer (B3 -2)

Job Title: Data Plane Developer for FPGA-based Hardware using P4 language for a SONiC based virtual router platform.

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Data Plane Developer skilled in high-performance networking for FPGA-based hardware, with expertise in P4 programming or alternative skills in DPDK and VPP. In this role, you will develop and optimize packet processing pipelines on FPGA platforms to meet high-throughput, low-latency requirements for advanced networking solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and efficient network applications, bringing in P4 based data plane.

Key Responsibilities:

• - Design, develop, and optimize data plane applications for high-speed networking, using P4, to meet router data plane requirements.
• - Implement custom packet processing pipelines on FPGA-based platforms, integrating with FPGA design workflows.
• - Work closely with hardware and control plane and platform engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance across data plane applications.
• - Troubleshoot complex networking issues related to packet processing, performance, and scalability, ensuring high standards for throughput and latency.
• - Conduct performance analysis and optimization of packet processing functions on FPGA
• - Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements, deliver feature enhancements, and align on project goals.
• Requirements:
• - Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• - 5+ years of experience in data plane development with P4(preferred), DPDK, or VPP in networking applications.
• - Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, VLAN, MPLS, etc. ) and packet processing techniques.
• - Knowledge of performance tuning, profiling, and optimization of networking applications on FPGA or x86-based systems.
• - Strong problem-solving skills and experience with debugging complex networking and hardware/software integration issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

• - Hands-on experience with P4-to-FPGA compilers or the integration of P4 with FPGA workflows.
• - Alternatively having strong experience in DPDK & VPP for developing data plane applications on ARM architecture shall be considered.
• - Experience with network function virtualization (NFV), software-defined networking (SDN), and high-performance computing.
• - Familiarity with high-level scripting languages like Python for automation, testing, and tooling development
