Networking Developer (SONIC)

Job Title: Networking Developer for SONiC based virtual router platform.

Job Summary: We are seeking an experience designer skilled in developing/adapting routing and OAM modules of SONiC based for a new platform. In this role, you will make necessary adaptations for SONiC software to run on the new platform, remove software modules that are not needed for the product and troubleshoot issues in bringing up the required networking functionalities. The adaptations may involve interacting with linux system and service layers to realize the networking (L2/L3 protocols functionality already available in SONiC) and OAM (CLI, yang modelling etc. ) functionality

Key Responsibilities:

• - Design, develop, and optimize SONiC Networking and OAM modules
• - Work closely with platform engineering team to bring-up all required SONiC containers on the new platform.
• - Work closely with data plane team to integrate the data plane with the required routes and nexthops
• - Troubleshoot control plane and OAM issues on router
• - Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements, deliver feature enhancements, and align on project goals.

Requirements:

• - Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• - 5+ years of experience working in router control plane or management plane
• - Strong C, C++ programming knowledge
• - Strong Linux system programming and IPC knowledge
• - Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, VLAN, MPLS, BGP, OSPF etc. )
• - Experienced in working with router OAM handling (e. g. CLI, yang models and how it translates to backend)
• - Experienced in working with router infra handling (e. g. RIB, interface handling, port state handling, redis DB handling etc. )
• - Strong problem-solving skills and experience with debugging complex networking issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

• - GoLang programming experience
• - Python scripting knowledge
• - Experienced in working with SONiC and contributing towards SONiC open source
