Key Responsibilities:
Cost Analysis and Reporting:
Assist in preparing detailed cost reports for products, services, and operations.
Monitor and analyze cost trends, identifying discrepancies or opportunities for cost reduction.
Ensure that cost calculations and reports are accurate and timely.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Collaborate with the finance team to develop budgets and forecasts based on cost estimates.
Review historical data and use it to predict future costs.
Cost Control:
Implement and monitor cost control measures to ensure financial objectives are met.
Identify areas for cost savings and recommend process improvements.
Inventory and Production Costing:
Assist in calculating inventory costs, including raw materials, labor, and overheads.
Support the preparation of production cost reports.
Standard Costing:
Assist in establishing standard cost models for various processes or products.
Review actual costs versus standard costs and analyze variances.
Data Management:
Maintain accurate cost data in financial software and systems.
Ensure that costing information is updated regularly and reflects current market conditions.
Financial Audits and Compliance:
Provide support during financial audits by ensuring that all costing information is accessible and accurate.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with other departments such as procurement, operations, and finance to gather data and insights for accurate costing.
Communicate cost findings and recommendations to senior management.
