AVP - Reinsurance Placements

We are seeking a strategic and driven AVP for Reinsurance Placements to join our Reinsurance & Risk Solutions team. As the bridge between our clients and reinsurance markets, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our reinsurance strategies and securing the best coverage solutions. You will be responsible for managing the placement process, negotiating terms, and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders to ensure optimal outcomes for our clients and the business.

Role & responsibilities

• Lead Reinsurance Placements: Manage the end-to-end reinsurance placement process, including evaluating client needs, conducting market analysis, and coordinating with reinsurers to secure competitive terms.
• Market Expertise: Keep a pulse on the global reinsurance market, emerging trends, and evolving risk profiles to identify opportunities for innovative solutions.
• Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, reinsurers, and other stakeholders to negotiate favorable terms and maintain long-term partnerships.
• Strategy Development: Collaborate with internal teams to develop reinsurance strategies that align with client needs and company goals, ensuring optimal risk mitigation and cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiation & Analysis: Lead negotiations with reinsurers, ensuring clear and favorable contract terms while balancing client objectives and reinsurance market conditions.
• Risk Insight & Reporting: Provide strategic advice and insights on risk exposure and the financial implications of reinsurance programs to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Innovation & Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline the reinsurance placement.

Preferred candidate profile

• 8+ years of experience in reinsurance placement or a related field, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex placements.
• In-depth knowledge of the global reinsurance market, product offerings, and risk management strategies.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to foster long-term relationships with brokers, reinsurers, and internal teams.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risk exposure, market conditions, and financial terms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner.
• Masters/ Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business, or a related field (CIP, ARM, or other relevant certifications are a plus).
• Experience in Cyber, M&A or Surety line of business is a plus.
