Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Vice President - Operations to lead and optimize our plant operations, supply chain management, and overall operational strategy.
This critical leadership role will be responsible for ensuring seamless and efficient operations across our advanced automated plant, driving continuous improvement, and achieving our ambitious revenue and operational targets.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in FMCG or food manufacturing operations, particularly in automated plant management and global supply chain logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant Operations Leadership:
- Oversee and optimize the end-to-end operations of our fully automated spice and herb processing plant, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance plant performance, reduce downtime, and minimize waste.
- Lead and manage production planning, scheduling, and execution to meet production targets and customer demands.
- Implement and maintain robust quality control processes and ensure compliance with international food safety standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Manage and optimize plant maintenance, ensuring equipment reliability and longevity.
- Implement and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and best practices.
Supply Chain Management:
- Develop and manage a comprehensive global supply chain strategy to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished products.
- Oversee logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management, to ensure seamless global operations.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics providers, and other key stakeholders.
- Implement and manage inventory control systems to optimize stock levels and minimize holding costs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant import/export regulations and customs procedures.
- Implement and manage supply chain risk mitigation strategies.
Operations Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and execute strategic operational plans aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
- Analyze operational performance data and identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Lead the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and finance, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of operational strategies.
- Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
- Drive the implementation of new technologies and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations and maximizing profitability.
- Recruit, train, and develop high-performing operations personnel.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and open communication.
- Ensure that all team members are thoroughly trained on company policies, procedures, and best practices.
Quality, Compliance & Sustainability:
- Ensure strict adherence to international food safety standards (e., HACCP, ISO 22000) and regulatory requirements.
- Drive compliance with sustainability initiatives and promote environmentally responsible practices.
- Implement and maintain robust quality management systems.
- Lead and manage audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Master's degree in engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably in the FMCG or food manufacturing industry, with a strong preference for experience in the spices and herbs sector.
- Proven experience in managing fully automated production plants and global supply chain operations.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and execution skills.
- In-depth knowledge of production planning, inventory management, logistics, and quality control.
- Familiarity with export markets (USA, UK, Europe, UAE, Canada) is a significant plus.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and other relevant software applications.
