Golang Backend Developer - WFH/Contract/Freelancer

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Golang Backend Developer to join our development team. You will be responsible for building high-performance, scalable, and efficient backend systems using the Go programming language, with a focus on frameworks like Gin and Melody, and experience in RESTful API and GraphQL development.

As a Golang Backend Developer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement backend services, APIs, and integration points that support our product ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop high-performance backend services using Go (Golang).
• Implement and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints.
• Use Gin framework for building fast and scalable web applications.
• Leverage Melody for building real-time applications with WebSockets and other protocols.
• Design, implement, and maintain efficient database schemas, queries, and optimizations.
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams to integrate with the backend services.
• Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code while following coding standards.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and continuous integration practices.
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability.
• Ensure application security and data protection by adhering to best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing activities with other team members.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and frameworks to continuously improve the development process.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Developer using Go (Golang).
• Strong experience with the Gin framework for building RESTful web services.
• Proficiency in building and integrating GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with Melody or other WebSocket frameworks for real-time communication.
• Solid understanding of database design, relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Experience in building, deploying, and maintaining production-ready systems.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Good understanding of version control systems, specifically Git.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with GraphQL subscriptions for real-time data synchronization.
• Knowledge of gRPC for efficient communication between microservices.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Knowledge of application monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
