Sr Software Engr-C++ & MFC

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the upgrade of SPARTA application from Visual Studio 2010 to the latest version
• Ensure compatibility with InSite 11, replacing integration with previous InSite version
• Perform necessary code modifications and refactoring while maintaining application functionality
• Collaborate with InSite development team at Sperry for technical guidance and troubleshooting
• Work with internal stakeholders, including previous developers, for knowledge transfer
• Provide regular progress updates and documentation of changes

Support testing and deployment phases

Required Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in C++ programming
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC)
• Strong background in Visual Studio development environment
• Demonstrated expertise in upgrading legacy applications
• Experience with version migration and dependency management
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting capabilities

Required Soft Skills

• Outstanding communication abilities, both written and verbal
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently
• Strong documentation skills
• Experience collaborating with third-party development teams

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in C++ development
• Proven track record of successful legacy application upgrades
• Direct experience with MFC-based desktop applications
• Background in maintaining and modernizing enterprise software
