Job Description

DIRECTOR ENGINEERING PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

We are looking for a leader to oversee and direct the day-to-day engineering activities including development and test for our clients line of products. This role will be responsible for building world-class development teams that can work effectively with other globally distributed teams to deliver products of high quality that meet or exceed customer and market expectations.

Our client is an industry leader for DevOps test data management. Businesses need to transform application delivery but struggle to balance speed with data security and compliance. Our clients platform leverages automated functionalities for data security, while rapidly deploying test data to accelerate application releases. Our client enables their customers to modernize applications, adopt multi-cloud, achieve CI/CD, and recover from downtime events such as ransomware up to 2x faster.

We are currently in the search for a Director Engineering who shall manage the core product development role and team. This role shall be located in NCR (preferably Noida) and maintain oversight for the remote team working out of NCR.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Direct and lead teams, should be able to effectively manage and mentor personnel, set priorities and create the vision for success
  • Process Leadership: Help drive effectively of our agile development processes by working together with peers. Strengthen process maturity to help teams make high quality releases more predictably.
  • Talent Management: Build a world-class development team by hiring developers, test engineers and managers who can raise the performance bar of the extended engineering team.
  • Technology and Product Transition: Drive and manage transition activities as the new teams ramp up. Create a plan for the team to become self-sufficient rapidly in terms of technology skills and domain expertise over time.
  • Driving Innovation: Drive innovation in the product by creating an environment which empowers and encourages team members to understand our clients business goals better and question the status quo. Work closely with product managers to help deliver products and features that lead the market.
  • Customer & Support Focus: Help drive a culture of keeping support issues to a minimum and measuring turnaround time for fixes that are critical for customer success and revenues.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering or Master of Science, Engineering
  • 5+ years experience in a senior management position and growth with technical and management experience
  • Must have 15+ years of experience in product development roles in a medium/large sized organization. Experience in building complex enterprise software - Strong coding and architecture background in multiple programming languages. Python and Shell scripting skills are mandatory.
  • Prior experience in building high-performing teams.
  • Experience working in Devops and Agile oriented organizations with focus on fast pace delivery of new products and features.
  • Management and leadership experience in a development organization that worked on cloud-or Web-based technologies and code.
  • SaaS based mindset.
  • Ability to work with Global Resources across different cultures and time zones.
  • Prior hands-on technical skills in enterprise software development and programming. Having depth and breadth of knowledge of managing development teams in a large-scale distributed environment is a core competency of this individual.
  • Knowledge of key technologies: Java, JavaScript, Python, Node.js, React, Angular or similar framework.
  • Communication skills strong written and verbal communicators, able to communicate with team members, management personnel, and end users throughout the organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, especially with development teams and enterprise software products with software.
  • Ability to lead teams, provide technical mentoring, establish best practices, and drive excellence.
  • Ability to handle critical situations involving high-priority customer issues, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to engage effectively with internal/external stakeholders to meet business objectives.
