IoT Data Scientist

We are seeking a skilled and innovative IoT Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in leveraging data from a wide range of sensors to build and deploy machine learning models for device characterization and calibration. You will be responsible for the end-to-end process of collecting, analyzing, and utilizing sensor data, as well as monitoring and maintaining the performance of deployed models in real-time.

Role & responsibilities:

1. Sensor Data Acquisition:

• Collect and manage data from various IoT sensors, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
• Develop pipelines to preprocess, clean, and transform raw sensor data into usable formats.
• Integrate data from multiple sources, including environmental sensors, embedded devices, and external databases.

2. Machine Learning Model Development:

• Design and train machine learning models for device characterization and calibration based on sensor data.
• Utilize both supervised and unsupervised learning techniques to analyze and interpret complex sensor datasets.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to validate and refine models to ensure accuracy and reliability.

3. Continuous Model Monitoring and Optimization:

• Implement monitoring systems to track the performance and accuracy of deployed models in real-time.
• Develop strategies for model retraining and updating to maintain optimal performance over time.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with deployed models, ensuring they remain robust and effective under varying conditions.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Bachelors or Masters in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data science with a focus on IoT or sensor data.
• Proficiency in Python and data analysis libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-Learn.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Hands-on experience with IoT platforms, protocols (MQTT, CoAP), and data collection tools.
• Strong understanding of signal processing, time-series analysis, and anomaly detection.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their IoT services.
• Knowledge of embedded systems and experience working with microcontrollers.
• Experience with edge computing and deploying models on resource-constrained devices.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with big data technologies such as Spark or Hadoop.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
