NLP Data Scientist

We are looking for an innovative and detail-oriented NLP Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about natural language processing, with specific expertise in speech-to-text technologies and converting text into actionable commands using token or keyword identification. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop, deploy, and refine NLP solutions that elevate our products and services. Your contributions will be vital in creating scalable, high-performance NLP tools that provide our users with powerful voice and text interaction capabilities.

Role & responsibilities

1. Speech-to-Text Development:

• Design, train, and deploy speech-to-text models using state-of-the-art techniques and frameworks.
• Enhance the accuracy and robustness of speech recognition systems across various accents and environments.
• Implement effective noise reduction and preprocessing strategies to improve transcription quality.

2. Text to Command Conversion:

• Develop algorithms to translate natural language text into structured commands based on token or keyword identification.
• Build robust parsing and tokenization systems to handle diverse language inputs.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate command conversion into user-facing applications.

3. API Deployment:

• Deploy NLP models as scalable APIs that can be consumed by various applications and services.
• Ensure the API is robust, secure, and can handle high-concurrency requests with low latency.
• Implement monitoring and logging to track API performance and usage.

4. Mobile Integration:

• Integrate the NLP and speech-to-text APIs into Android and iOS applications.
• Work closely with mobile developers to ensure seamless integration and functionality across devices.
• Optimize API usage to maintain efficient communication between mobile apps and backend services.

5. Performance Optimization:

• Analyse and optimize the latency and throughput of NLP APIs to ensure a smooth user experience.
• Implement caching, load balancing, and other techniques to minimize response times and improve performance.
• Continuously evaluate and fine-tune models and infrastructure to support scaling and evolving user needs.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in NLP and machine learning.
• Proficiency in Python and popular NLP libraries such as NLTK, SpaCy, and Hugging Face Transformers.
• Experience with speech-to-text frameworks like Google Speech-to-Text, DeepSpeech, or similar.
• Strong background in machine learning techniques and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Proven track record of building and deploying NLP models in production environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and their NLP services.
• Familiarity with command-based systems or virtual assistants.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business insights.
