Technical

67 years of experience in the field of US Individual taxation

Big plus if experience in Australian individual taxation as well

Advanced understanding of US Individual tax returns (1040) and advanced understanding of US Foreign Trust filing requirements (Form 3520) and other foreign filings on US individual tax returns (Form 8865, basic 5471, 8621, 926 etc)

Manager/Second level Review of Tax Workpapers and Tax Returns

Share relevant thought leadership with colleagues to enhance technical knowledge

Make the most of the opportunities for technical development through on the job learning and exposure
6

Validate data and analyze for accuracy and relevance
7

Produce high quality work which adheres to the relevant professional standards

Ask relevant questions and communicate open items with clients along with making relevant alternate suggestions/approaches

Develop knowledge of the firm s line of service capabilities and our portfolio offerings

Take relevant actions to develop digital technology and automations while keeping uptodate with new developements

Identifying & discussion for missing information with AC team and territory counterparts at the start of the tax return preparation

Proactive communciation with onshore team for areas of development the team needs and assisting with putting together training programs for the AC team

Ability to understand cross border tax implications, and a clients tax position across multiple countries to correctly arrive at the final tax position on a US return

Ability to understand and decipher a tax treaty is a must
14

Understanding of US non resident taxation and the treaty rates to use and which income to consider on a US return
15

Ability to verbalize a clients US tax return and explain a US return in laymans terms

Possesses sound project management skills; Team Lead/Team management experience is mandatory

Ability to manage a large book of tax returns and the drive to keep the current tax return status uptodate
