Job Description
AML- KYC
Role: Fresher Analyst
The role of a KYC analyst offers an opportunity to gain exposure toward end-to-end of Client onboarding and
Reviews. The analyst will have the advantage of working alongside core teams such as Know Your Client and
Client Referential - Front Office requestors, Compliance and Subject Matter Expert (SME) team. The KYC
analyst supports KYC reviews for Low, Med Low, Med High and High-Risk clients from all regions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform/conduct full KYC reviews on new clients and/or periodic reviews of clients in accordance with
relevant laws, regulations, and firm policies as appropriate.
• Carry out KYC due diligence reviews in a timely manner to meet the quality standards, as per the banks
policies
• Review, investigate, and understand organizational structure and assist in determining ownership and
control parties to identify all ultimate beneficiaries and potential politically exposed persons (PEPs)
• Use sound decision-making and discretion in making decisions that mitigate corporate risk at each decision
point throughout the investigation
• Implement, perform and document assigned customer verification reviews; performs and conducts
compliance screening for PEP, sanctions and adverse news based on detailed procedures and processes.
Identifies issues, escalates to management for resolution and formally documents findings.Role
KYC Quality checker ("QC") works to ensure high quality standards are maintained for KYC and Enhanced Due
Diligence (EDD) casework conducted by KYC analysts. The QC operates in a team environment and has
regular interaction with Business, Operations and AML Compliance management, as well as QA teams.
Skills
• Good analytical and logical reasoning skills
• Detail oriented with a logical and analytical bend of mind and are able work against tight deadlines and
manage own workflow/priorities accordingly
• Ability to work in a fast paced and high-pressure environment
• Ability to work in a diverse work environment which requires collaboration, partnership, and transparency
• Ability to quickly scale up with an attitude and willingness to learn
• Good academic record with a minimum of 60% score
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
• Well-organized and have multitasking and prioritization skills
• Strong team player who has good understanding of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment
Role: Experienced Analyst
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct customer due diligence and high-risk reviews according to the banks BSA/AML policy and
procedures.
• Prepare and present written reports of high-risk reviews including results and recommendation for
customer onboarding, closure or retention decisions
• Review, investigate, and understand organizational structure and assist in determining ownership and control parties to identify all ultimate beneficiaries and potential politically exposed persons (PEPs)
• Ensure that decisions to retain or exit a customer relationship align with supporting documentation
submitted for each high-risk customer type, and with appropriate research conducted during the high-risk
review process
• Implement, perform and document assigned customer verification reviews; performs and conducts
compliance screening for PEP, sanctions and adverse news based on detailed procedures and processes.
Identifies issues, escalates to management for resolution and formally documents findings
• Use sound decision-making and discretion in making decisions that mitigate corporate risk at each decision

Skills-
• Basic understanding of AML/KYC regulations and how these impact financial institutions, as well as
knowledge of Investment Bank and Corporate Bank products.
• Knowledge of and ability to utilize tools, techniques and processes for gathering data utilizing 3rd party tools
such as Dun Bradstreet, LexisNexis, government registries, etc.
• Knowledge of various types of customers and ability to analyze customer activities, profiles and source
information.
• Strong analytical skills so as to understand and interpret trends, analyze annual reports and data to make
recommendations
• Well-organized, with multitasking and prioritization skills
• Ability to work successfully in a target driven environment
Role: Experienced QC
KYC Quality checker ("QC") works to ensure high quality standards are maintained for KYC and Enhanced Due
Diligence (EDD) casework conducted by KYC analysts. The QC operates in a team environment and has
regular interaction with Business, Operations and AML Compliance management, as well as QA teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review cases for adherence to SDD, CDD, EDD procedures and ensure analyst conclusions are clear,
complete and supported by the information in the file
• Review, investigate, and understand organizational structure and assist in determining ownership and
control parties to identify all ultimate beneficiaries and potential politically exposed persons (PEPs)
• Ensure that decisions to retain or exit a customer relationship align with supporting documentation
submitted for each high-risk customer type, and with appropriate research conducted during the high-risk
review process
• Identify and escalate critical issues to the SME and KYC Manager
• Assist in identifying problem areas and risks associated with processes and make recommendations to
improve quality of KYC analyst file work.
• Serve as a key support resource for delivering training and guidance to KYC analysts
• Ensure that decisions to retain or exit a customer relationship align with supporting documentation
submitted for each high-risk customer type, and with appropriate research conducted during the high-risk
review process
• Decrease regulatory and reputational risk by exercising sound judgment in approving/rejecting submitted cases
• Maintain proactive communication with Senior Management including periodic updates on engagement
progress and potential issues
• Coordinate and liaise with various departments (Anti-Financial Crimes, Negative/Adverse News Screening,
Quality Control, etc.) to ensure quality files are produced
Skills
• Good knowledge of AML laws and regulations and the ability to apply this knowledge in assessing client KYC
profiles.
• Sound working knowledge of FC guidance, industry best practice and relevant regulation.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a concise and technically accurate manner, and to articulate complex
messages in both written and verbal communication in a clear way
• Knowledge of and ability to utilize tools, techniques, and processes for gathering data utilizing 3rd party
tools such as Dun Bradstreet, LexisNexis, government registries, etc.
• Knowledge of various types of customers and ability to analyze customer activities, profiles, and source
information.
• Strong decision-making, time management and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented multi-tasker who can work with little supervision.
• Willingness to learn and manage in a constantly changing environment.
