Senior SDET (Expert in automation -Web +API testing)

Location-Gurgaon /Bangalore/Chennai/Pune/Hyderabad/Noida/Mumbai (3 days/week office is must)

Job Overview:

Experience: 3.6-9 years depending on competency and skills we'll give decide level which will be either Senior SDET or Lead SDET
Education: Full-time Bachelors/Masters degree in Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead automation testing for distributed, scalable systems.
• Develop and implement automation frameworks, scripts, and strategies aligned with business needs and ROI.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure automation integrates seamlessly with overall project goals.
• Mentor and guide a small team of automation qa engineers (2-3 members), ensuring efficient QE processes throughout the SDLC.
• Establish and maintain robust test management processes, defect documentation, and automation test plans.

Technical Skills:

Must-Haves:

• Strong programming skills in Java with a solid understanding of OOPS concepts.
• Hands-on experience with GUI-based test automation tools for desktop and/or mobile automation.
• Expertise in designing and developing automation frameworks using best industry practices, such as the Page Object Model.
• Proficient in writing SQL queries.
• Familiar with automation tool selection and test approach definition.
• In-depth experience with API testing tools like RestAssured, SOAP UI, Postman, or similar.
• Ability to integrate test suites into test management systems and CI/CD pipelines (using tools like Jenkins, Maven, Gradle).
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and API testing strategies.

Preferred:

• Experience with mobile application automation and non-functional testing tools.
• Knowledge of modern agile practices like BDD/Cucumber, DevOps, and service virtualization tools like CA Lisa.
• Expertise in test management tools such as Xray, Zephyr, and PACT broker setup.

Test Management:

Must-Haves:

• Ability to estimate and plan for low to medium-complexity applications using standard estimation techniques.
• Strong defect management experience, capable of defining and enforcing defect lifecycle processes.
• Experience overseeing and mentoring small teams, guiding them through test case creation to test closure.

Preferred:

• Experience in defining automation test strategies and plans for low and medium-complexity applications, ensuring ROI.
• Ability to maintain and report test coverage and devise a regression testing approach.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work in high-pressure environments and adapt quickly to new technologies and processes.
• Strong decision-making abilities and client relationship management skills.
