Director - Legal

The role will support all divisions within the organization on different legal issues relating to the existing as well as prospective businesses for the group ranging from general corporate, M&A, fundraise, structuring, litigation and litigation strategy, IP strategy, registration, monitoring and enforcement, data protection etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary liaison for corporate functions across the group, including Information Security, Technology Security, Human Resources, Administration, Finance, and others.
• Offer strategic guidance to corporate functions on best practices for developing internal policies related to human resource management, information security, and procurement.
• Deliver legal advice on issues raised by corporate functions, ensuring solutions are both business-friendly and compliant.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel and law firms to ensure timely and efficient outcomes.
• Apply expertise in Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) and product-related fields to address challenges in marketing, content supply, brand and product launches, and feature development.
• Proactively identify and mitigate legal, financial, and reputational risks across B2B and B2C business units.
• Foster collaboration and coordination with external legal and tax advisors, as well as law firms, to ensure the validation and accuracy of legal guidance.

Prior Experience & Skills:

• The ideal candidate will have 6 to 8 years of experience in the legal function.
• The candidate must have extensive knowledge of information technology laws and regulations, including data protection, privacy, intellectual property (trademarks, copyrights, personality rights), media rights acquisition regulations.
• Proven work experience of working on corporate, tax, labour/employment in ITES/SAAS/MNCs.
• Must have worked on setting up processes for compliance with consumer protection, data privacy and data protection.
