Job Overview :

As a Senior Mainframe Developer, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our mainframe-based applications. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of key applications used by our clients. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience in PL1, DB2, JCL, and CICS, with a strong understanding of mainframe development and support

Key Responsibilities :

- Mainframe Development : Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications primarily using PL1, DB2, JCL, and CICS to ensure high performance and efficiency.

- Application Maintenance : Provide ongoing support for existing systems, including troubleshooting, bug fixing, and implementing enhancements.

- Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure project requirements are met efficiently.

- Code Optimization : Implement code optimization techniques to enhance system performance and reduce processing time.

- Documentation : Maintain thorough documentation for all projects, ensuring compliance with best practices and internal standards.

- Production Support : Participate in the rotation of production support to ensure that the systems run smoothly and that issues are resolved in a timely manner.

- Mentorship : Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers on best practices, code quality, and troubleshooting techniques

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Experience : 5-7 years of experience in mainframe application development, particularly in PL1, DB2, JCL, and CICS.

- PL1 Development : Proficiency in PL1 programming language, with hands-on experience in writing and maintaining efficient, high-quality code.

- DB2 : Strong knowledge and experience with DB2 database, including designing, developing, and optimizing SQL queries.

- JCL : Expertise in Job Control Language (JCL) for job scheduling, batch processing, and automation of mainframe systems.

- CICS : In-depth experience with CICS (Customer Information Control System), including developing and maintaining online transaction processing systems.

- Mainframe Tools: Familiarity with other mainframe tools and technologies such as TSO/ISPF, SDSF, IDMS, and Rexx.

- Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to debug and troubleshoot complex mainframe applications.

- Communication : Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Teamwork : Ability to work in a collaborative environment, mentoring junior developers, and participating in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions
