Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Lead Proposal Writer to join our business development team. The Lead Proposal Writer will be responsible for managing the proposal development process, ensuring the creation of high-quality, compelling proposals that align with client requirements and company objectives. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, leading proposal efforts, and providing strategic input to enhance our proposal success rate.

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal Management:

• Lead the development and submission of high-quality proposals in response to RFPs, RFIs, and other solicitation documents.
• Develop proposal outlines, compliance matrices, and schedules to manage proposal activities.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including business development, engineering, marketing, and finance, to gather necessary information and inputs.

Content Development:

• Write, edit, and format proposal content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with solicitation requirements.
• Develop and maintain a library of reusable content, templates, and proposal best practices.
• Tailor proposal content to address the specific needs and requirements of each client.

Strategy and Review:

• Provide strategic input and direction for proposal efforts, including win themes, value propositions, and differentiators.
• Lead proposal review sessions, including color team reviews (e.g., Pink Team, Red Team), to ensure high-quality submissions.
• Incorporate feedback from reviewers and stakeholders to improve proposal content.

Collaboration and Coordination:

• Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather technical information and insights.
• Coordinate with graphic designers to develop visually appealing and effective proposal graphics.
• Ensure all proposal contributors understand their roles and deadlines.

Quality Assurance:

• Review and proofread proposal documents for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors.
• Ensure consistency in style, tone, and branding across all proposal sections.
• Conduct compliance checks to ensure all client requirements are met.

Training and Mentorship:

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior proposal writers and other team members.
• Conduct training sessions on proposal best practices, writing techniques, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, English, Technical Writing, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in proposal writing, business development, or a related field.
• Proven track record of successfully leading and winning proposals, particularly in US Government System.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with proposal management software and tools is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions
