Candidate industry Background : Retail / Startups / Product based.

We are looking for an experienced VP of Engineering / Technology to manage a diverse development team. The responsibilities of a VP include leading a team of developers and software engineers, collaborating with product teams, and improving company policies and standards.

Responsibilities:

- Leading the team through management and mentorship.

- Developing standards and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met and consistent.

- Work with the Founders and the management team to solve business problems using technology

- Design and build secure, scalable, and reliable app and web products for a global user base

- Lead the team through management and mentorship

- Contribute to recruitment activities

- Experience with new, latest technologies and trends such as ReactJS, Angular, Java, PHP, AI, Web and Mobile Technologies etc

- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills;

- Prior experience as a software developer (MUST);

- Desire to change the existing paradigms, think out of the box and sharp analytical minds;

- Preparing and optimizing budgets.

- Recommending technological developments and improvements inefficiency.

- Developing the team to ensure quality end products.

- Experience with agile or other program management methodologies and supporting tools.

Criteria:

- At least 8 - 13 years of proven record in a similar role, demonstrating drive, ambition and business acumen

- Bachelor's / Masters degree in Technology from Top Tier institutes like IIT / NIT/ BITS is mandatory; additional qualifications/courses in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Management or related fields would be a bonus

- In depth knowledge of micro services architecture, AWS ecosystem, LAMP stack and agile methodology

- Strong organizational leadership skills.

- Analytical and strategic mindset.

- Balancing multiple responsibilities.

- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with Sr. management and peers;

- Self-starter and independent thinker;

- Familiarity with the tools and software used by engineers under their oversight

- Previous working experience in software design and developing customer-orientated platforms.

- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.

- Technical courses and bootcamps that cover topics like coding, software development and UX design can bolster an aspiring VP of engineerings skills.
