Purchase/Procurement Manager - Construction Industry

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement/Purchase Manager to oversee and manage all procurement activities within our construction projects. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the construction industry, sourcing of materials, equipment, and services, and negotiating favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors. As a Procurement Manager, you will ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of construction materials and services, helping to support project timelines and budgets.

Role & responsibilities

• Manage the procurement process for construction projects, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and vendors in the construction industry to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and reliable delivery.
• Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to determine material requirements, project timelines, and budget constraints.
• Prepare cost estimates, analyze supplier quotes, and select the best suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor market trends and material costs to provide recommendations for cost-saving measures or alternate sourcing options.
• Ensure that all purchased materials and services comply with project specifications, industry standards, and relevant safety regulations.
• Track and manage the procurement budget to ensure purchases are within financial constraints, and report on procurement expenditures to senior management.
• Resolve any supply chain or procurement issues, such as material shortages, delivery delays, or quality concerns.
• Oversee and manage the timely receipt of materials and equipment to construction sites, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted workflow.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, including vendor contracts, purchase orders, and inventory levels.
• Ensure compliance with all legal, contractual, and regulatory requirements in procurement processes.
• Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies that align with project needs, timelines, and cost objectives.
• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., finance, legal, and operations) to ensure procurement aligns with company goals and project specifications.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the construction industry.
• Familiarity with software or tools SAP
