Purchase Executive

Job Title: Purchase Executive Tooling and Plastic Raw Materials

Job Summary:

The Purchase Officer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring tooling equipment and plastic raw materials to support production and operational needs. This role involves supplier management, cost optimization, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement of Tooling and Equipment:

• Identify and evaluate suppliers for tooling equipment, molds, and dies.
• Ensure that tooling meets industry and company specifications.
• Monitor stock levels and reorder tooling materials as required.

2. Plastic Raw Material Procurement:

• Source polymers, resins, and other plastic raw materials based on production requirements.
• Assess quality standards and ensure compliance with company and industry specifications.
• Negotiate with vendors to achieve cost-effective pricing and terms.

3. Vendor Management:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Conduct regular vendor evaluations for quality, pricing, and delivery performance.
• Address and resolve supplier-related issues promptly.

4. Cost Analysis and Optimization:

• Analyze market trends to forecast material costs and availability.
• Implement strategies to reduce procurement expenses without compromising quality.

5. Documentation and Compliance:

• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and invoices.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory guidelines.
• Coordinate with the accounts department to resolve invoicing discrepancies.

6. Inventory Management:

• Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure appropriate stock levels.
• Minimize overstocking and stock outs through efficient planning.

7. Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Work closely with the production, quality assurance, and R&D teams to align procurement with project timelines and specifications.
• Coordinate with logistics for timely material delivery.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

• 3+ years in procurement, preferably in tooling or plastic raw materials.
• Familiarity with injection molding, extrusion processes, or similar manufacturing methods is a plus.

Skills:

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficient in ERP software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Analytical mind-set with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of market trends in tooling and plastics.
