Job Description


The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, managing the sales team, and implementing strategies to achieve sales targets. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills to enhance customer relationships and develop new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Sales Strategy and Execution:
    • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve organizational goals.
    • Analyze market trends, competitors, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
    • Set monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the team.
    • Team Management:
      • Recruit, train, and mentor the sales team to enhance their performance.
      • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress and address challenges.
      • Monitor individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback and support.
      • Customer Relationship Management:
        • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
        • Address customer concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
        • Develop strategies for customer retention and loyalty.
        • Business Development:
          • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in existing and new markets.
          • Collaborate with marketing teams to implement campaigns that drive sales.
          • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
          • Sales Operations:
            • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to management.
            • Ensure timely collection of payments and adherence to credit policies.
            • Maintain accurate records of sales activities in CRM systems.
            • Market Research and Insights:
              • Conduct market research to identify trends and potential areas for growth.
              • Provide feedback to product development teams based on customer insights.

                              Requirements
                              Qualifications& Experience:
                              • Experience: 3-5 years in sales roles at food distribution companies like Sakthi Masala, Aachi Masala, Everest Masala, or similar organizations.
                              • Skills:
                                • Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the food distribution network, particularly in spices, millets, and cold-pressed oils.
                                • Negotiation & Evaluation: Proven ability to assess potential distributors/wholesalers and negotiate favorable terms.
                                • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively pitch products and build relationships.
                                • Sales Acumen: Strong sales planning, execution, and reporting skills.
                                • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze market data, identify opportunities, and develop actionable strategies.
                                • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams like marketing, supply chain, and operations to ensure smooth execution of distribution plans.
                                • Proficiency in Local Language: Fluency in Tamil and working knowledge of English is essential to interact with local distributors and merchants.
