AWS Administrator - Cloud Infrastructure (1-2 yrs)

Job Summary :

We are looking for a seasoned AWS Administrator with over 5 years of core experience managing and maintaining AWS infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency.

This role involves collaboration with development teams, managing deployments, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing cloud resources.

Key Responsibilities :

AWS Infrastructure Management :

- Set up, configure, and maintain AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, IAM, and more.

- Manage and monitor AWS environments for performance, cost, and security optimization.

- Perform system health checks and capacity planning to ensure high availability and disaster recovery.

- Implement and maintain backup and recovery processes, monitoring logs, and alerts.

Networking & Security :

- Configure and manage VPCs, subnets, security groups, NACLs, and VPN connections.

- Ensure the implementation of security best practices, including IAM roles, policies, and encryption.

- Manage firewall settings and security controls for protecting sensitive data in cloud environments.

- Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Automation & Scripting :

- Automate cloud management tasks using tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible.

- Write and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or similar languages.

- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application deployment.

Monitoring & Performance Tuning :

- Use monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, or third-party tools like Nagios, Prometheus, etc.

- Optimize AWS resources to ensure efficient scaling and performance tuning.

- Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, outages, and high-latency issues.

Cost Optimization :

- Analyze and manage AWS billing and usage, optimizing for cost efficiency.

- Implement tagging strategies for effective resource cost management and forecasting.

- Use AWS Trusted Advisor to optimize services and suggest improvements in performance and cost.

Collaboration & Documentation :

- Work closely with development and DevOps teams to integrate AWS services into application architecture.

- Create and maintain infrastructure documentation, procedures, and policies.

- Provide mentorship and support to junior team members and assist in troubleshooting.

Compliance & Governance :

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (i.e., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).

- Enforce governance models such as AWS Organizations, Service Control Policies (SCPs), and AWS Config.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

AWS Expertise :

- Strong understanding of core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, etc.

- Proficiency with AWS CLI and SDKs for automation.

- AWS certification (AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc.) is a plus.

Networking & Security :

- Solid understanding of networking concepts like DNS, load balancing, and TCP/IP.

- Experience with IAM policies, encryption, key management, and security auditing.

Scripting & Automation :

- Experience in automation using CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible.

- Knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting :

- Hands-on experience with AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and third-party monitoring tools.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve infrastructure-related issues.

Soft Skills :

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

- Excellent documentation and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Familiarity with multi-cloud strategies (Azure, GCP).

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

- AWS Certified Administrator.
