Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities Sr. Mainframe Infrastructure Engineer Indicative years of total experience: 5 to 6 years Role Description: This role will be primarily working in infrastructure team supporting business / developer community with SDLC business services & related tools. Reporting relationship: This role will report to IS Delivery Manager Key Responsibilities: Mandatory Skillset - Proficient in DB2 and SQL query writing, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, REXX, CICS with relevant hands-on experience Should be able to automate manual recurring tasks. Proficient with analysis and research task. Should be able to perform basic navigation in ISPF and use tools like File-aid for file operations proficiently. Assist in root cause analysis exercises of reoccurring production issues and should be able to provide effective solutions. Demonstrate proficiency with all tools (B92, Abend Aid, Xpeditor) and processes associated with the monitoring of the production environment. Create and maintain system documentation. Document issues in the production environment, resolving the issue whenever possible and escalating if necessary. Make process improvement suggestions and open to share and accept new ideas. Batch-cycle support & related communication to users, application teams and other stakeholders about the status of any system outages, as needed. Provide on-call support on weekday and weekend. Good to have skills Knowledge of Git, Github, IBM IDz, Jenkins, DBB (Dependency Based Build), Groovy scripting, Urbancode Deploy, Digital.ai is a huge plus. Qualifications Must Have Education: GraduateBachelors degree (any stream) Skill set: Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, good documentation skills, strong communications and inter-personal skills, good time management skills. Good aptitude, positive attitude.Must be a good team player. Good learnability and quick grasping, stretch mindset, ability to train junior team members Other: Expertize in multiple applications/functionalities, Domain skills and inclination to learn it quickly, good SQL knowledge and understanding of database.
