Job Description

Position Overview
You will manage multiple CS projects and other deliverables for the assigned therapeutic area or other area of assignment. With considerable independence, you will routinely act as lead on or otherwise oversee and manage CS assignments of increasing complexity, with responsibility for ensuring timely, high-quality completion of all deliverables associated with assigned CS projects and/or recurring workstreams. You will participate in or lead special, internally oriented projects that advance Prescients capabilities and infrastructure, such as new team training, new systems or applications, new methodologies, or other tools. You will typically lead a team of direct reports. This position requires an understanding of the evolving biopharmaceutical market and trends.

Example Responsibilities
The following are example responsibilities of this position and are, as such, not meant to be exhaustive, nor convey every responsibility that may vary over time, without changing the essence of this position:
  • Project Management: Ensure three-dimensional management of client engagements, including design, planning, client management, people management, evidence collection, analysis and reporting
  • Client Management: Collaborate with other members of the project and account teams to ensure the clients experience best-in-class customer service and that projects are run in a proactive, communicative, and efficient manner
  • Business Development: Seek out new business within existing accounts and pursue opportunities with new brands
  • Subject Matter Expertise:
    Act as a valued subject matter expert externally, and mentor junior staff internally
  • Secondary Data Analytics: Contribute to sourcing, analysis and reporting of published information, be it scientific, clinical, commercial, corporate or market
  • Evidence Generation: Collect market, competitor and stakeholder evidence through desk-based interviewing and elicitation
  • Analysis and Reporting: Collaborate with other members of the project team to analyse findings, develop insights and implications, and create client presentations that deliver a linear, evidence-based story on the topics in focus
  • Conference Attendance: Lead and cover key conferences and workshop moderation with the objectives of interacting with a wide range of experts and delegates and attending key symposia, presentations, posters, and booths
  • Quality Control : Responsible for quality signoff for projects/deliverables managed by the project teams and the QC score achieved on your projects
  • Line Management: Where assigned, hire, develop, and retain diverse talent on your team
Education, Experience, Knowledge & Other Skills
The following criteria outline the minimum hiring criteria for this position, unless otherwise stipulated below as preferred, or a plus.
  • Graduate or advanced degree in life sciences, data sciences, business, or a related discipline, with 8 or more years life sciences research and analytics experience, which may include pharma consulting, pharma business intelligence, working with drug/indication databases, pharma data analytics, etc. 2 or more years experience working in oncology, immunology, or biosimilars is strongly preferred. An advanced degree may be required. Knowledge of databases and international research sources
  • Significant experience in the same or related therapeutic area or other specialist area of assignment, including the clinical, regulatory, and commercial aspects of markets globally, especially in the EU and US , understanding of new drug commercialisation, competitive dynamics and key success factors and business practices, networking with investigators (KOLs and key trialists)
  • A mix of industry and consulting experience is a plus
  • People management (direct reports) experience with 2 or more years experience managing others
  • Demonstrated thought leadership in area of specialization , e.g., patents, new constructs or methodologies, publications, speaking events, conferences, leadership role in a professional association, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of our business and the fundamental practices, principles, and tools used in management consulting, as evidenced by increasing independence in completing assigned work
  • Sound knowledge of our clients and their needs and objectives, as evidenced by increased speed and accuracy in delivering assigned work and the ability to suggest value-added opportunities
  • Strong knowledge of the life sciences industry , including drug development and approval processes, clinical trials, and patient segments, and is able to parlay this into consistently effective CS eliverables
  • Strong knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA, EMA and other relevant regulations and guidelines, and applicable international regulatory requirements
  • Strong knowledge of our competitors, our differentiators, and value proposition
  • Customer & Quality Centricity: demonstrable client-centric and quality-oriented mindset and approach with a high level of attention-to-detail
Communication: strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Understands varying cross-functional roles and responsibilities and adapts communications accordingly. Communicates technical information in a manner that others can assimilate. Able to develop and deliver strategic communications for own function in a manner that conveys a compelling business case, aligns others, and gets people moving in the right direction. Highly adept at distilling complex matters into a clear and elevating business case and roadmap for execution
Presentation Skills: demonstrated ability to deliver influential and impactful presentations, both written and verbal
Collaboration: strong and consistent track record of effective collaborations both internally and externally. Knows how to identify and leverage diversity within teams. Recognised as a strong team player. Proactively manages differing perspectives and approaches to ensure optimal team collaboration
Team Management: proven abilities to manage the work of other team members and effectively coach others on deliverable quality and timelines, performance, productivity, engagement, and capability development
Project Management, Time Management & Organisation: demonstrated ability to effectively lead multiple functional and/or cross-functional projects of increasing scope and complexity. Recognises shifts in priorities and other changes that impact work and adjusts accordingly. Able to take on stretch assignments and complete these to the standards expected
Influencing & Stakeholder Management: demonstrated ability to influence without authority and effectively manage routine interactions and communications with stakeholders. Proactively plans stakeholder interactions and communications into process and approach. Proven track record of strong stakeholder relationships, as evidenced through stakeholder feedback. Able to effectively represent complex, high-profile work to senior stakeholders and executives and is regarded as a trusted advisor
Industry Knowledge: maintains a strong and current understanding of evolutions in own function and our industry. Able to incorporate more future-facing considerations into ideas and planning
  • Achieving Results: consistently achieves targeted results and other expectations through effective matrix leadership of functional and cross-functional teams. Proven abilities to navigate well through change and ambiguity.
