Database Administrator - SQL (8-15 yrs)

About the Job :

We are seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator with expertise in managing both on-premise and cloud-based SQL environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and database security to ensure efficient and secure data management.

Roles and Responsibilities :

- Administer and maintain on-premise SQL databases (i.e., Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL).

- Manage cloud-based SQL environments (i.e., Azure SQL, AWS RDS) and ensure seamless integration.

- Optimize database performance, query execution, and indexing to enhance efficiency.

- Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity.

- Implement database security best practices, including access controls and encryption.

- Write and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Python, and T-SQL for automation and database management.

- Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and provide proactive solutions.

Skills and Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- 5+ years of experience managing on-premise SQL databases (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL).

- 2+ years of experience with cloud-based SQL environments (Azure SQL, AWS RDS).

- 3+ years of experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.

- 3+ years of experience in backup and disaster recovery planning and implementation.

- Strong knowledge of database security best practices and compliance standards.

- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, T-SQL) for database automation
