SAP ABAP Consultant - E2E Implementation (8-10 yrs)

Job Title : SAP ABAP Consultant

Experience : 8+ Years Relevant

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, test, and maintain robust and efficient SAP ABAP programs, including reports (classic and ALV), interfaces (BAPI, RFC, IDoc), enhancements (User Exits, BADIs, Implicit/Explicit Enhancements), forms (Smartforms, Adobe Forms/PDF Forms), and other custom solutions.

- Work on at least one end-to-end SAP implementation project, contributing to all phases from requirements gathering to go-live and post-implementation support.

- Experience with different implementation methodologies (e., Agile, Waterfall) is a plus.

- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and design efficient and scalable ABAP solutions.

- Analyze and optimize ABAP programs for performance, ensuring efficient resource utilization and a positive user experience. This includes performance tuning, code review, and debugging.

- Work closely with functional consultants, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements, provide technical expertise, and ensure seamless integration of ABAP solutions with other SAP modules.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to ABAP applications, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

- Conduct thorough testing of ABAP programs to ensure quality and adherence to functional specifications. This includes unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.

- Adhere to coding standards, best practices, and project timelines, ensuring maintainability and consistency across all ABAP developments.

- Create and maintain technical documentation for ABAP programs, including design specifications, user manuals, and technical guides.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest SAP technologies and trends, including S/4HANA, Fiori, UI5, and RAP (Restful ABAP Programming).

Required Skills :

- Strong proficiency in Core ABAP programming (Reports, Interfaces, Enhancements, Forms).

- Experience with data dictionary objects (tables, views, domains, data elements).

- Knowledge of SQL and ABAP SQL.

- Experience with debugging and performance tuning.

- Understanding of SAP development tools (ABAP Workbench, Data Browser).

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Extensive experience in all aspects of ABAP development.

- Proven track record of successful SAP implementations.

- Experience with advanced ABAP techniques (Object-Oriented ABAP, ABAP Unit).

- Exposure to newer SAP technologies like Fiori, UI5, and RAP is highly desirable.

- Strong understanding of SAP architecture and modules.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Ability to lead and mentor junior developers.

- Experience with project management methodologies
