Role : Scala Functional -Lead Engineer

Description :

The Software Engineering team is a group of full stack developers who design, develop, and maintain our products, tools, and infrastructure.

Your day-to-day job will consist of :

- Lead the design and implementation of scalable and efficient technical solutions to complex business problems.

- Analyze and enhance the performance of web applications.

- Perform upgrades to third-party libraries and tools used by the web application.

- Develop new web application features and products, adhering to best practices such as unit testing, writing maintainable code, and applying established patterns and algorithms.

- Lead design discussions and code reviews to ensure high-quality software development.

- Specialize in server-side web application development with a preference for familiarity with both front-end and back-end development.

- Develop software to support internal initiatives, tools, and update framework and application functionality.

- Work as part of an Agile SCRUM team in the planning, scoping, estimation, and execution of technical solutions.

- Work within a wide range of new and legacy code and technologies in a mature codebase.

Required Skills :

- Minimum Qualifications

- Minimum of 8+ years of relevant and related work experience.

- Bachelors degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.

- Additional experience may be substitute for an advanced Degree.

- 8+ years of development experience

- Strong understanding and experience with Functional Programming aspects.

- Advanced proficiency in Scala or any other functional programming language

- Experience with effect libraries (like Cats-Effect) and developing Scala APIs .

- Strong knowledge of JavaScript (preferably TypeScript) and experience with Node and/or React.js.

- Expertise in designing data persistence and caching concepts using both SQL and NoSQL DBMS (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, etc.).

- Extensive experience with cloud services, particularly AWS (Lambda, SES, SQS, EC2, RDS, ELBs, and VPCs).
