Polaris Smart Metering - Backend/Full Stack Developer - Python/Django (5-10 yrs)

What we are looking for :

We are looking for an excellent problem solver with strong full stack software engineering skills to manage and constantly enhance the 8 different software modules in our power distribution management platform.

The candidate will be driving the architecture design of new features and modules, building, and managing a team of full stack developers, and architecting and maintaining a high performance and scalable cloud infrastructure that runs our platform.

What you will be doing :

- Gathering and converting business requirements from internal and external clients for various software modules of Gram Power's platform

- Designing the architecture of new modules, features and its interconnection with other modules in the platform.

- Building modules and features of our platform to operate at scale.

We design for 20+ million distributed devices being handled on the platform.

- Ensuring modules are built and maintained to be extensible, easily dockerized for on-premises & multi-tenant cloud deployments and operate in a micro service architecture.

- Monitor and maintain uptime of our cloud infra on which critical power infrastructure is managed.

- Performance monitoring of all APIs and services to ensure high performance of applications.

- Keep a close watch on cloud expenses per device and stick to necessary budgets.

- Maintain strong technical documentation.

What you should have :

- Should have 2+ years of experience in full stack development with a focus on backend development.

- Strong preference for candidates with experience of building and managing a platform/ software product.

- Proficiency in following tech-stack : Javascript, ReactJS, Python, Django

- Strong fundamentals on web standards, browser performance, rendering pipelines, HTTP, and other concepts.

- PostgreSQL, Dynamo DB, Firebase DB optimization

- GIT, AWS

- Microservices framework Kafka

- Asynchronous & event-based programming.

- Big data tools like

- Apache web services

- Good understanding of networking fundamentals
