PIQUOTA - PostgreSQL Expert (8-12 yrs)

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and implement complex database solutions using PostgreSQL.

- Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and other database objects.

- Implement and manage database indexes, materialized views, and partitions for performance optimization.

- Perform database performance tuning and optimization, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.

- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance problems, data corruption, and connectivity issues.

- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity.

- Implement and manage high availability and replication solutions using PostgreSQL extensions (pgpool-II, repmgr).

- Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to understand database requirements and provide technical guidance.

- Contribute to database architecture and design decisions.

- Document database schemas, procedures, and other relevant information.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest PostgreSQL features and best practices.

Qualifications :

- 8-12 years of proven experience in database development and administration, with a strong focus on PostgreSQL.

- Advanced SQL proficiency (6+ years).

- Extensive hands-on experience with functions, procedures, triggers, indexes, materialized views, cursors, and loops (6+ years).

- Significant experience in performance tuning and optimization techniques (4+ years).

- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL architecture (2+ years).

- Experience with backup and recovery, high availability, and replication.

- Knowledge of PostgreSQL extensions.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
