Responsibilities IT Tools support for Engineering organization (e. g. , Polarion, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Bamboo, Jfrog Artifactory) Infrastructure Provisioning and Management: Setting up and maintaining the necessary infrastructure to support development and operational activities. Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines to automate the software release process. Tool Management: Overseeing various DevOps tools selection, implementation, and maintenance. Configuration Management: Ensuring all systems are configured correctly and consistently. Monitoring and Logging: Establishing systems to monitor application performance and maintain logs for troubleshooting. Monitoring and Observability: Implementing tools and practices for real-time monitoring and observability of systems. Security and Compliance: Enforcing security measures and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Cloud-Native Technologies: Utilizing microservices, APIs, and other cloud-native technologies to enhance scalability and flexibility. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Managing infrastructure through code for efficient provisioning and operation. Automation, Containerization, and Orchestration: Streamlining processes through automation and managing containerized applications. Security Integration: Incorporating security practices early in the development lifecycle (Shift-Left Security). Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): Ensuring the reliability and availability of services through proactive engineering practices. Application Architect (Avinash) - Manage Application Admin - Manage Vendor relationship - Vendor issue management (vendor ticket management): Gap Tool / UI Admin (80%) - Access, license/audit monitoring, certification updates - Application administration tuning & performance parameters for application stability - Application logs monitoring - Application upgrades - Monitoring of application (e. g. availability) - Works with Architect on vendor management - Works with System Admin for any Infrastructure related issues - Builds necessary tool scripts / basic scripting knowledge System Administrator (Application Infrastructure) (20%) - Get Infra, DB, OS, etc. logs to monitor issues and recommend improvements to address problems/performance/etc. Gaps: - Jira/Confluence on non-standard OS, creates an issue for Tool Admin and System Administrator responsibilities o Architect is the responsible role for administrating non-standard OS until moved to standard platform - Vendor support responsibilities (ticket management, vendor issue fix recommendation o Architect to be responsible for orchestration of any vendor related issue resolution recommendations - Any new tool additions: o Scope/Effort alignment-based ticketing history to assess impact o Once scope support is agreed upon, Knowledge transfer from current responsible party to tool admin - Application-level scripting o To managed daily support/admin tasks, access requests, etc. - Ticket baseline: review 2023 & 2024 numbers o ~300 tickets per month in EV space
