Database Engineer - Oracle & SQL Server

We are seeking an experienced Database Subject Matter Expert (SME) specializing in Oracle & SQL Server to manage, optimize, and secure enterprise database systems within the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) domain . This role involves database architecture, performance tuning, security, backup, and disaster recovery planning in a mission-critical environment.

• Install, configure, and manage Oracle (12c, 19c) and SQL Server (2016, 2019, 2022) in high-availability environments.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, partitioning, and in-memory processing .

• Implement RBAC, encryption, auditing, and data masking to ensure compliance with BFSI security regulations ( PCI DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2 ).

• Develop and maintain backup and recovery plans using RMAN, Data Pump, SQL Server Always On, and enterprise backup solutions .
• Design and implement Oracle Data Guard, Oracle RAC, SQL Server Always On, and Failover Clustering for high availability and disaster recovery.

• Automate database administration tasks using PL/SQL, T-SQL, PowerShell, Python, or Ansible .
• Manage and optimize databases on AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud, and hybrid cloud environments.

• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, failures, and connectivity problems .
• Utilize monitoring tools such as OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager), SQL Server Profiler, Prometheus, and Splunk for proactive performance analysis.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
• Maintain detailed documentation of database architectures, security policies, and disaster recovery procedures .

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle & SQL Server database administration .
• Expertise in high-availability architectures (RAC, Always On, Data Guard, Failover Clustering, Replication, Mirroring, Log Shipping).
• Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Experience in database security, encryption, and compliance .
• Proficiency in PL/SQL, T-SQL, PowerShell, Python, or Ansible for automation.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based database solutions (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud) .
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in production environments.
• Experience with database migration, upgrades, and patching .
