JOB ROLE SUMMARY

In the position of Supervisor Vehicle Assembly, you role entails coordinating and supporting the Shift-in-charge’ through effective monitoring of operations of the assigned area in terms of production, quality, cost, delivery, technical and safety to achieve the defined targets. Your role includes optimum utilization of resources and support to the team in achieving the organization’s goals.

JOB KEY DELIVERABLES

Supervising closely the day-to-day production activities as per defined process parameters & ensure internal/external customer satisfaction

Liaising and coordinating with other departments on issues concerning production planning with smooth resolution of issues to meet the production target

Skill mapping along with resource optimization to ensure delivery of products as per defined schedule and quality specifications

Identifying and reporting unsafe conditions to immediate superior & rectifying the unsafe acts immediately

Promoting and facilitating the utilization of lean manufacturing techniques with a drive to excel basis the Company targets related to productivity, efficiency and quality

Reporting and coordinating with maintenance officers to ensure prompt action during breakdown to minimize/reduce downtime

Overseeing the introduction of new models and process changes to meet targeted outputs within the defined timelines

Monitoring change over and line set up efficiency closely and timely reporting on variances and concerns.

Providing technical guidance to the team regularly and respond to operator queries with focus on upskilling them.

Maintaining and promoting high housekeeping standards in the respective section and ensuring safe and environment friendly work area

Facilitating reduction in transformation cost through implementation of various improvement initiatives related to productivity, inventory reduction, quality, resource utilization and capacity enhancement

Sharing information and timely updates to various internal and external stake holders along with necessary support for related activities to ensure timely implementations of different projects

Communicating effectively and disseminating KPIs to the team drawn out from the strategic annual plan along with setting clear expectations and deliverables with clear deadlines.

Preparing & providing timely shift production (MIS) reports for key planning and allocation decisions

Good verbal and written communication to ensure open and accurate exchange of data and information across departments and shifts

Good knowledge of engineering concepts, manufacturing, the product, production standards and efficiency optimization tools

Ability to achieve results against an internal and external standard of excellence, showing a passion for improving the delivery of services with a commitment to continuous improvement

Ability to perform procedural steps in correct order, accurately and timely to complete targets and further applies organizational procedure and safety norms

Ability to drive others on safety and environmental issues and helps team members to take appropriate safety precautions.

Must be open to learn and should have quest for continuously building knowledge and keeping abreast with the technical and procedural aspects of the job

Should possess the requisite skills and potential to perform job in a manner that minimizes hazard to oneself, others and the work environment and promotes safety environment.

Should be a team player with an ability to work collaboratively with others to produce and develop the specified plans

QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

BE / ME – Mechanical / Automobile / Production / Industrial Engineering

Work Experience - 4-8 years of industry Experience, Preferred Industry Experience Automobile and engine manufacturing industry, Auto Ancillary companies

Line balancing and layout setting for productivity improvements.

Variance analysis and reporting management Preferred Technical Skills and Certification

LEAN manufacturing practices

TPM, Machining & Assembly work practices, 2W/3W/4W engine product knowledge

5S, Six sigma Methodology, SAP application

Knowledge of Quality systems like TS16949/OHSAS

Waste identification & elimination
