RFQ Engineer (Estimation Engineer)

Role & responsibilities:

1) Analyze RFQs and technical documents, including drawings, models, and specifications, to understand project requirements.

2) Prepare cost estimates for metallic, composite, and sheet metal components, including machining, assembly, and finishing operations.

3) Determine machining cycle times, material costs, for accurate quotation preparation.

4) Review part models and engineering drawings to assess manufacturability and identify potential challenges.

5) Collaborate with engineering teams for clarification of technical details.

6) Define manufacturing processes, machining sequences, and tooling requirements for production.

7) Study Bill of Materials (BOM) and specifications to ensure accurate cost breakdowns.

8) Communicate with customers for clarifications on RFQs, design changes, and project timelines.

Must Have Competencies:

1) Minimum of 3+ years of experience in machining cycle time analysis, process planning, part model validation, technical drawing and BOM review, cutting tool selection, fixture design concepts, cost estimation, and expertise in machining of metallic, composite, and sheet metal components.

2) Min 2+ years of work experience in SolidWorks, CATIA V5 and MS Office 3) GD&T proficiency.

Preferred Competencies:

1) Experience in working with global aerospace clients and vendors.

2) Experience in tool and fixture design or cutting tool selection for high-performance machining.

3) Adhering to Quality Manual and AS9100 Rev D requirements
