Planning Engineer (Water Treatment Plant)

Planning Engineer is a member of the project management Team who is responsible to work independantly and also manage a team of Engineers for overseeing the Construction aspect of project. Coordinating with project team and Engineering contractors during the FEED, EPC construction, commissioning to Operation phase.This position will report to the Project Manager. Responsible to Performs schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring activities. Maintains relationships with project personnel, particularly with individual discipline group leaders and engineers in the home office and at jobsite(s). Prepares project control plans and detailed staffing utilization plans for discipline or specialty activities. Assists in the preparation of schedule data for contract negotiations. Responsible to ascertains that the correct scope of work is reflected on all schedules. Integrates inter discipline schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical work sequences for assigned disciplines or specialties. Works with the performing organizations and units to coordinate work sequences with the total project plan. Responsible to establishes and implements methods for determining activity durations within assigned disciplines or specialties. Develops quantity release curves for a specific discipline or specialty. Reviews and evaluates quantity records to ensure total quantities are represented for a particular discipline or specialty. Develops required job hour expenditure for assigned disciplines or specialties. Assists in determining leveling decisions. Performs quantity, manpower, and cost resource loading for assigned schedules. Performs invoice preparation for payments based on cost loaded schedules as required. Performs performance monitoring and control functions. Responsible to Reviews schedule data and identifies and acquires the information needed to complete work logics to interface between assigned disciplines or specialties. Assists in developing specific project work breakdown structures and recommends appropriate modifications and revisions. Determines critical-path activities for assigned discipline or specialties, and identifies significant activities supporting inter discipline requirements. Identifies critical path for discipline or specialty work activities. Develops and monitors short term (2-4 week) engineering, procurement, construction schedules. Monitors schedule deviation for assigned disciplines or specialties including subcontractor submittals and recommends corrective action/workaround solutions for project considerations. Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field and the home office. Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience. Understanding project specifications and developing time schedules and budgets that meet them. Confidence to deal with individuals at all levels in the organization, Proven conflict resolution skills. Negotiating with vendors and contractors to secure the best prices. Observing existing processes, analyzing staff performance, and addressing deficiencies accordingly. Monitoring and tracking project progress, and writing up reports. Analyzing technical drawings and providing material and cost estimates. Ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budgets. Reasoning & Analysis Interpersonal Skills Result Orientation People Management Adaptability & Flexibility Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree / equivalent 11 - 15 Project Planning certifications, Contract Management Certifications, Project Mangement Professional (PMP) or similar. Experience as Planning Engineer in well reputed company is preferred Experience in large scale green field and Water Treatment Plant. Experience in HAZOP and 3d Model and maintainablity reviews. Experience of using Primavera (P6) for 8+ Years on EPC Projects. Knowledge in the use of computers and several basic software applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint for executing work processes Knowledge of current industry and technical developments. Intermediate capabilities using Active Risk Manager (ARM) software, @RISK, and Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA) and/or Acumen Risk. Intermediate capabilities of developing Power BI Dashboard Good technical knowledge of domain execution. Provide technical guidance to the Execution team for Water Projects. Leading technical and Model review meetings with EPC contractor, stake holder. Understanding on Project development activities. Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written, proficient in MS Office. Experience in HAZOP and 3d Model and maintainablity reviews. Shall have ability to travel to Water Projects sites. Role & responsibilities
