Senior Electrical Engineer - PP/PDH/U&O

Senior Electrical Engineer PP/PDH /U&O is a member of the project management Team who is responsible to work independently and also manage a team of Engineers for overseeing the electrical aspect of projects and coordinate with the project team and engineering contractors during the FEED, EPC, construction, commissioning to Operation phase of the project.

Review projects, electrical system design and detailed engineering documents provided by FEED or EPC contractors, provide comments and ensure resolution. Manage direct reports including managing work allocation, training, mentoring, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic. Maintain an overview over the entire technical delivery ensuring that all scope is appropriately covered and that all parties clearly understand their requirements and their interfaces with others.

Ensure a formal and disciplined technical communication protocols by establishing and maintaining an RFI, Technical Concession and Change process with a live tracking register. Provide input/ establish internal company policies and procedures and ensure implementation. Ensure the safety responsibilities for this position are carried out.

Responsible to participate in HAZOP, QRA, HAZID & HSEIA. Advise the Engineering Manager ahead of issues becoming critical and provide recommendations to improve these issues

Responsible to provide appropriate guidance as necessary regarding local legislation, codes and standard and technical requirements.

He shall have the personality and drive to manage independently and also direct and guide the team to achieve the Project objectives. In addition, he must be assertive and firm in dealing with FEED Engineering, EPC contractors and other service provides while exercising absolute control on the work.

Good exposure and sound knowledge in design of Electrical, Cable size selection criteria, High Voltage and low voltage, design and selection of Transformers, Bus Couplers, Switch gears, breakers, Transformers. Good exposure of handling LV / HV Motors, VFD, etc. Should have exposure to handle Electrical Sub-station. Good experience in FEED Phase design, construction and pre-commissioning phase. Should have good knowledge of Cathodic protection during design, selection and construction phase. Should have good knowledge in calculation of Electrical load, preparation of Electrical load summary, Single line diagram, etc.

Exposure to PP/PDH/U&O Process Technology, HSE system and best practices and participating or carrying out safety procedures like HAZOP etc.

Certification in High Voltage Electrical system, or any other equivalent electrical certification.

Petrochemicals process Plant Electrical design i.e. Plant electrical system specification, selection, construction, commissioning and maintenance is preferred.

Experience in large scale green field petrochemical & Refinery plants. Experience in PP/PDH/U&O Plant, selection of voltage, analysis, troubleshooting and commissioning.

Experience in Concept to Commissioning total project life cycle.

Experience of FEED/ EPC Engineering Contractor’s electrical team in electrical system design and detailed engineering for petrochemical projects.

Ability to review FEED/ EPC engineering contractor’s design and engineering documents related to electrical system. Ability to work independently providing necessary inputs in setting policy and establishing work methods.

Expert in design codes and standards.
